Don't Quit

The last verse is like a mantra that keeps playing in my head whenever I feel like quitting. This has been with me since I was in high school but I still don't know who is the original author.

****
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure comes about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell just how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Ben Affleck R.E.S.P.E.C.T!

I read this post on 9gag last night and my first thought was... Wow! Ben Affleck! Wow!

Finally, someone said something that has to be said.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T!

http://9gag.com/gag/aj658D0/-respect-ben-affleck

You can search for the debate on YouTube --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vln9D81eO60

Listening to the interview, I feel offended.  Especially when 'It's the only religion that acts like a MAFIA' was said. The woohooooo and the clapping from the audience was like adding salt on a wound.

I am offended. Deeply Offended.

Honestly, the 'ISLAM' that they discussed is NOT the Islam that I know.

The ISLAM that I know is peaceful, is fair and definitely does not oppress women.

Just look at me and all my female Muslim friends. We are smart & educated, we have careers, we wear hijab without it ever limit the things that we can do, the married ones are not abused by their husbands, the married ones even helped with the family economy, we have our freedom. I am free to travel even on my own without anyone ever holding me back. We can do everything we want and we also know how to protect our honour and always behave like a muslimah.

Obviously, I cannot deny the fact that there are Muslims who are extremists and the reason behind all these generalization on ISLAM... and on Muslims.

I admit that there are also Muslims who are unfair, who are always in rage, who oppress women, who are extremists, who are terrorists etc etc... But, are these behaviour limited to Muslims only? I don't think so.

Except for that terrorist part; lately I feel like for someone to be called a terrorist, that someone must be a Muslim. Otherwise, that someone will only be called a shooter or a hijacker.. something like that. You get the idea right?

The truth is, ISLAM is the one being oppressed right now.

So, I thank you Ben Affleck for keeping an open mind and giving ISLAM a chance of getting a defense in the western world.

Tentang Melayu...

Terima kasih Tun Sambanthan kerana mengingatkan bangsa Melayu tentang keistimewaan bangsa kami sendiri.

MH17 & MH370

Saddest news over and over again...

I was not so sad when MH370 went missing. Because I live with hope and with that, I know I shouldn't give up on MH370 until hard evidence is found. As far as I know, they crews & passengers are still alive and MH370 is hidden somewhere... I don't know where, but it is somewhere...

MH17... was shot down. All the crews & passengers are dead.
My tears cannot stop coming...

Sadness aside... The ridiculousness of what happened to MH370 and MH17 is hard to process.

Don't you smell how fishy this is?
This smell very, very fishy!

MH370 went missing... without a trace... in 2014! No radar can trace it? The pilot went silence? There is no shred of evidence of the aircraft crashes or anything... At least something. But, there is nothing!

MH17 was shot down in a war conflicted zone? The military mistaken a passenger aircraft for a military one? Weird... I know, s**t happens... But, this is one unbelievable s**t!

Because of all these fishiness, I'm leaning towards believing conspiracy theories.I don't know which one is the right theory, but in my heart, somebody somewhere is gaining a BIG advantage by doing this to my country and to my favorite airline.

Whoever they are, one day karma will get to them...
I hope that day will not be too far away...

Al-Fatihah to all passangers and crews of MH17...
My deepest condolence to their families, relatives and friends.

MH370... Our prayers are still with you.

Malaysia is being tested in a great way again...
Let us stay united in this time of tribulation.

FIFA WorldCup 2014 - GERMANY is The CHAMPION!

Wuhuhuhuuuuuuu!!! I'm so happy!!!

CONGRATULATIONS GERMANY! You guys are the best. Seriously, Germany deserves to win because they are The Best Team... The best team with the best players. They don't depend on one person to do the important things. They work together!

Everyone in the team, the goalie who reminds me of Oliver Kahn, the defenders, led by the captain were impenetrable, the swift and skillful midfielders and forwards. Together they made the team strong, sturdy and unbeatable.

You guys really kicked a**es this year :)

To all the players in team Germany, the coach Joachim Loew and the captain, Phillip Lahm... Great Job!

I have much respect for the captain...

They are also, a good looking team... ihiks!

Even the coach is hot...

Oits! Wipe that drool off your mouth! It's fasting month!
Ahaks!

*Skipping*

Have a great day ahead y'alls!

Sunan Nanggroe Sang Kembara

I'm back with The Sunan fever! Kekekeeeee...

Ramlee Awang Murshid has done it again with a book that is hard to put down and I finished reading it in one weekend!

Although for me, 'Cinta Sang Ratu' is still the best in the series, 'Sunan Nanggroe Sang Kembara' also has a kick to it. It shows us how Sunan become the man that he is.. the challenges that he faced and how he overcame it. As usual... he's so cool, calm & collected about everything.

But, in this book, he's not The Man... Wali Sufi IS the man :)

What am I babbling about? Just go get the book & read it.

P/S: I wish for this book to be translated into all languages so I can share this Sunan madness with the world!

Mossy Forest @ Cameron Highland

I felt like I was in the LOTR movie! Why didn't they shoot the movie in this location?! Mossy Forest is amazing!

First thing first... I went to Mossi Forest on May,2013.
Why didn't I write about it here? How could I missed it?! How could I?!

Arrrgghhhh...

Anyway, if you plan or by chance went to Cameron Highland, please... pleaseeeee do not miss the opportunity to explore the Mossy Forest. We followed a travel agent there. Naturally, the agent thought we were foreigners, because local wouldn't need a guide (despite my face yang memang confirm la Melayu kannnnn... although, there were incidents where people in China thought I was Chinese... so, the agent have a good reason to doubt my ethnicity).

Sorry bro... I jarang- jarang masuk hutan. Takut nak masuk sendiri- sendiri... ngeeee...

So, back to Mossy Forest.

Eh, you can read about it here lah... http://www.cameronhighland.net/mossy-forest.htm

I only want to share the pictures we took of the marvelous time we had there...
Our guide, Michael... betul bro... memang best tempat ni. I agree with you :)
You'll be standing on 2000 M above sea level...
On the border of Pahang and Perak...

Overlooking this view... aaaaa... niceeee...

... and on the path, you'll be experiencing these...

This could be a good movie location right? LOTR, The Hobbit, Indiana Jones... Pirates of the Caribbean (although we are not in the Caribbean...) Who cares?!

Frodo and Sam could rest here... and enjoy more of their special Lembas bread :P

Sharing the fun with some tourists from China... good times are better shared right?

We took off our shoes to experience the mossiness of Mossy Forest. Plus, it's more fun that way... But, some ang mo looked at us in disgust... errrrr... come on la bro! But didn't mind them... it was obvious that we were having much more fun... wayyyyy much :)

If you went for a walk in Mossy Forest, take off your shoes... the ground was soft and mushy and wet and cold... kekekeeeee...

Luckily, we had no incident with the local fauna :P

So, remember... CAMERON HIGHLAND... MOSSY FOREST.

MUST VISIT :)

Ciao y'alls! Have an inspired day tomorrow!

See you guys next time!

Paragliding @ Jugra... such an awesome experience!

Y'alls! I went paragliding today!
Such an awesome experience. So, so awesome. Loved it!

I'm sooooo like a little girl with a maximum level of sugar overdosed :P
Feeling so happy and excited and accomplished after my first and second paragliding experience today.

I went with my friend, Siti who is such an adventurous girl. She's done this before and she was so sweet to come & support me on my first try. But, she ended up doing it, again...

See... paragliding can be addictive :P

That's my buddy, Siti... flying... niceeee...
The feelings? Mixed... Excited, nervous (of course...), confident, happy... and nervous... again... and again... hahahaaa... I'm not trying to scare you guys. I'm just being honest... ngeeee...

Luckily I have been mentally prepared, so I was not as nervous as I usually would be. Phewwww...

That's me... in the air.. yippeeeeee...

And if you look carefully at the picture, the people on the ground, they are actually rescuing someone who had an incident during his take-off. That definitely added to my nervousness...

But still, I did the paragliding twice.

Told you it can be addictive.

Flying tandem with Captain Ikhwan :) You can't be thinking that I was flying solo :P
I highly recommend flying tandem with Captain Ikhwan... but other guides (not sure if that's what they are called) are qualified too.

So, if you have been thinking of doing paragliding, or thinking of doing something different and awesome, or craving for some adrenalin rush... or simply looking for a simple yet awesome adventure, just head off to the Paragliding Flight Park @ Jugra.

I hope you'll have an awesome experience... Just like I did!

Awesome is my favourite word of the day.

Coz, everything IS awesome!

Ahaks!

Nite nite y'alls! I wish you guys a wonderful day, everyday!

Kuala Lumpur 2014 (1)

This year I want to take photos of my beloved Kuala Lumpur as much as I can. Growing up, I realized that my beloved city have gone through so many changes. I wish I have the photo of every changes... but I don't.

So, that's what started the mission :)

I hope you enjoy the photos although it was taken by my not so 'canggih' phone camera. Unfortunately, as much as I love photography, I dread carrying the big camera around...
I'll try to be a more dedicated photographer... ngeee...

These pictures are already on my instagram. Reuploading them here :)

Enjoy!
