A Meowing Trip to Kuching, Sarawak: Semenggoh Wildlife Centre

I had so much fun here!

I'm not so much of an animal person. But somehow, I find Orang Utan interesting :) Perhaps because I met one in National Zoo years ago and she was adorable!

We arrive at Semenggoh Wildlife Center at about 2.00pm so that we don't have to wait for so long for the 3.00pm feeding time. The entrance fee was only RM 3.00... so cheap for so much fun :)

There are a total of 26 Orang Utan in this wildlife center. You can read about them & the families at the information board at the entrance. The Orang Utans have quite catchy names... hihihiii...

Entrance ticket :)

Please adhere to all the rules & regulations here because it is all for your own safety.

While waiting for the feeding time, we went to watch the Orang Utans in their natural habitat. We were so lucky because there was a family of Orang Utan hanging out near the watching area. I managed to capture a couple photos of this curious little one :)

The ranger called us at about 2.30pm for an early feeding time. Before we walked to the feeding area, a ranger briefed us on what we should or should not do. One very important point was, foods and drinks are a big no no. Don't bring them to the feeding area or you might be attacked... for the foods & drinks of course.

200 meters to the feeding area.

Watching the Orang Utans during feeding time was so much fun!

Tu dia aihhhh... sekali tiga dia ngap...

After eating, they played with one another. So cute! You can see all the rolling and wrestling actions going on :)

Auwww... Manjanya diaaaa...

 Sempoi...

Pose menawan... Seksi tak??? Kekekeeee...

My favourite picture...

So, if you are ever in Kuching, make sure you have time to visit Semenggoh Wildlife Center. You will have so much fun!

A Meowing Trip to Kuching, Sarawak: Serikin

Serikin is at the Sarawak-Indonesia border, about an hour drive from Kuching. What is there in Serikin? Shopping of course :) There are so many things to buy there... I ended up going there twice... heheheeee...

The weather there? Hot! So, remember to at least bring a hat, or you can buy from there. They have a lot of fancy hat selection :) The sellers in Serikin are nice. But, the common courtesy when shopping is... don't start bargaining unless you really want to buy the thing ok.

The biting hot sun...

A wide selection of prayer clothes... and much cheaper than in KL.

Ready made curtains and... an accidental model :)

 Loving the colours...

I love this... but have no reason to buy them *sigh*

A Meowing Trip to Kuching, Sarawak

I had so much fun in Kuching, Sarawak last week. Tired but fun! This was my 3rd time in Kuching and I enjoyed it like I've never been there before. Heheheeee...

As always, what makes a place a good place to visit is the people. I always say to my friends, if you think Malaysians are nice people, you will find nicer Malaysians in Sarawak. In my case, I have my dearest friend & her family there. That definitely doubled my good time :)

Where did I go in Kuching?
  1. Serikin --> for shopping of course :)
  2. Semenggoh Wildlife Center --> Orang Utan time! Loved it!
  3. Sarawak Cultural Village --> Experience the Sarawak's houses
  4. Pantai Puteri (Puteri Beach) @ Santubong
  5. Movies --> 'Priest' and... 'Thor' for the 2nd time... he's too hot! :P
  6. Eating out --> Too much food... huhuhuhuuu...
    • 'Ayam Panggang' (Roasted Chicken) @ RJ Ayam Penyet was so juicy & soft & succulent.
    • Drooling over 'Pisang Goreng' (Fried Banana) @ RJ Ayam Penyet
    • Mee Jawa Kuah Satay @ Coffee O Corner is a must try (according to Anastasia... I didn't try coz the Nasi Lemak was calling out to me)
    • Seafood @ TopSpot (or Taman Kereta) must not be missed!
I'll be posting separately for items 1- 4. As a preview of my Kuching experience, I present to you, the yummy foods that I enjoyed so much...

'Ayam Panggang' (Roasted Chicken) @ RJ Ayam Penyet served with a stinging dried chilli dip.

'Pisang Goreng' (Fried Banana) @ RJ Ayam Penyet.

Oiy, wipe that drool off your mouth :P

Hope you enjoy my other entries!

Be good! Be nice! Take care!

Finding words...

As always... when work occupied most areas of my brain, the writer side of me decide to back- off. There are so many things to write about... the ideas are all flying around my head... They are all jumbled around... But cluttered brain = cluttered word.... So, I decided to not say anything :)

I'm hoping to post a happy experience sometime this month. Just wait for it.

There are a lot of not so happy things going on around us. I just wish people will just think clearer, be nicer and always remember that this life is only a preparation for the next one...

I wish all the best to all of us... be good!
